FAQs
A no-picture fault is most commonly caused by a damaged HDMI port, but it can also be a faulty HDMI chip or display cable. We run a full diagnosis before recommending any repair, so you'll know exactly what's causing the issue before we start. Try the console on a different TV and with a different HDMI cable first, if it still shows no picture, bring it in.
Joy-Con drift is caused by wear on the analogue stick mechanism. We replace the analogue stick module with a higher-quality replacement that is more resistant to future wear. The repair typically takes under an hour and costs from £35 per controller.
Third-party repairs typically affect the manufacturer's warranty on the repaired components. If your console is still within its manufacturer warranty period, it may be worth contacting Sony, Microsoft, or Nintendo first to see if they will cover the repair. We're happy to advise on the best course of action for your specific situation.
Very urgent. Repeated thermal shutdowns can cause long-term damage to the processor and other components. The sooner we clean the dust build-up and replace the thermal paste, the less likely it is that permanent damage will occur. We'd recommend not using the console until the repair has been carried out.
It depends on the fault and the console. PS4 and Xbox One store save data on internal hard drives which can sometimes be accessed independently. PS5 and newer consoles encrypt save data to the specific console, which makes standalone data recovery more complex. Bring it in for a free assessment and we'll tell you honestly what's possible.
